Location Attractions in Keswick and Cumbria

Castlerigg Stone Circle - one mile east of Keswick in the English Lake District, this is a hilltop stone cirlce thought to be four thousand years old.
Cumberland Pencil Museum - the history of pencil making in Cumbria, which will interest the whole family.
Derwentwater Marina - The Marina is an ideal location for your water or mountain based activities in and around Keswick, or for simply relaxing amid the beautiful scenery of the Borrowdale Valley.
Keswick Leisure Pool - a modern family facility with wave machine and slide.
Gentler Walking - Gentler days out can be enjoyed by walking to the top of Latrigg (367m); Catbells (445m) or by taking in the views from Friars Crag and Castlehead.
Honister Slate Mine - A fully guided tour into the mine itself is available several times a day detailing the history and spectacular features of the mine.

Lake Derwentwater - is three miles long and stretches down into the valley of Borrowdale. Good footpaths circuit the Lake at high and low level, and there are regular cruise trips.

Fell Walking - Skiddaw (931m); Helvellyn (949m), Scafell (964m), Scafell Pike (977m); Great Gable (899m) and dozens of other fells are all within easy reach for a great day's walk or climb.

Keswick Museum and Art Gallery - Local Victorian Museum revealing Keswick's surprising past.
Keswick Launch - Provides frequent trips around Derwentwater, in both directions.
Keswick Market - a weekly market is held on Saturdays in the central square around Moot Hall. A local produce market is also held every Thursday.
Moot Hall - now containing the Tourist Information Centre, this building dates back to 1813 on an earlier 16th Century site.
Theatre by the Lake - a superb modern building housing a variety of entertainments on the short of Derwentwater.
Whinlatter Forest Park - England's only mountain forest can be found behind Braithwaite village.
